Mark Pisoni loves walking through the vineyards first thing in the morning. The air is crisp, and only the coo of the California quail breaks the silence. Ambling through the vertically shoot-positioned rows, he notices subtle differences in leaf angles, tendril growth and cluster developmentminute changes that could go unseen but make all the difference in growing superior instead of simply average wine grapes.
As vineyard manager, Mark adheres to the strictest viticultural practices. He supervises the same 15-person crew that has tended these grapevines by hand for over 10 years.
This commitment to the land and its fruit reflects the Pisoni family philosophy that "Wine is made in the vineyard."
